Tree Planting

I had two very excited younger children to take to school today. It’s National Tree Day and the morning had been set aside for planting trees. The whole school from Pre-Primary to Year 7 were going to be driven on the bus down to the local rubbish dump. (Yes, there were lots of jokes in the staff meeting about not bringing them back). The council had ripped up areas for trees to be planted and donated the trees, so the kids all arrived with old clothes, rubber boots, gloves, and trowels, ready to do their bit for the environment. Much more fun than sitting in the classroom.


Thankfully the rain held off until after lunch, so they should have got back to school without getting wet. And all those new trees have just had a good water. I’d hate to be the teachers trying to settle the kids back to work this afternoon, though.
