Kreativ Blogger Award

Brenda has awarded me the Kreativ Blogger Award (that’s the award for people who are creative, but can’t spell)…thanks, Brenda! So I’m supposed to list 7 of my favourite things and pass it on to 7 people. As I’ve said before, I’m not one for passing things on, (and most people I know have already had it anyway), but I'm happy to try the first part.

Here goes –

Raindrops on roses and
Whiskers on kittens.
Bright copper…pardon? I’m not allowed to use these? Oh, okay…thinking, thinking…

I know some people have listed their favourite places or favourite people, but I don’t really think I could narrow my list down enough for that. So, like the song, I’ll list 7 of my favourite little things, things that cheer my day. In no particular order –

1. Spider webs covered in dew. I can’t say I’m enthralled with spider webs around the house, but when they’re hanging from a fence or a tree on a misty morning, they’re like strings of pearls.
2. Baby animals. You could probably have guessed that one, couldn’t you?
3. A deep-toned bell ringing in the early morning. When we were in Seoul we sat on top of a mountain (Namsan) while there was a Buddhist ceremony going on. The sound of the bell ringing was so peaceful. Magical even. A single church bell has the same effect for me.
4. Children’s laughter. There’s nothing more infectious than a small child’s giggle over something they’re enjoying.
5. The smell of an old book. Musty, I know, but there’s just something about it that I love. The history of it, maybe – all those people who’ve held it, read it, soaked in the words before me.
6. The smell of rain after a long dry. I don’t know if this happens in other countries, but here, you can smell the rain coming for ages before it arrives. The scent of earth, wet straw and eucalyptus all rolled into one lovely smell.
7. Geckos on the window at night catching insects– those big black eyes and rubbery bodies. They’re so cute.

I could probably go on forever. Aren’t you glad I was restricted to seven things?

Now, if you’re reading this and you haven’t yet received the Kreativ Blogger Award, consider yourself awarded and get writing. It’s actually a very interesting exercise.

Luv the list too. . . but what's wrong with the spelling? I mean really, it's a pretty unimaginative person who can only think of one way to spell a word. . . . right? ;0)
