Forward it on

I have to apologise to Brenda and Christina who both nominated me lately for the Lemonade Stand Award for a blog with attitude and gratitude. I’m sorry I’ve done nothing about it, but for one thing, after my last post - which showed very little gratitude and lots of bad attitude – I don’t feel worthy. And for another thing I don’t think I can think of ten other bloggers who haven’t already had it (at least once). I know these things are all about linking to other blogs, but on this occasion I’ll pass, sorry. Thanks for thinking of me.

I’m really a killjoy. I’m not good at forwarding things on. I have a few friends who like to send me forwarded emails. Most of them are fun to read and share with the family (though the one I got yesterday with photos of lots of shirtless hunky males is definitely one I won’t be sharing). But I very rarely bother to send them on and I get really annoyed at the ones that threaten all sorts of bad consequences if I don’t. I got one this morning that told me I’d lose 4lbs if I sent it to my friends, but I’d gain 10lbs if I didn’t. Well, guess what, folks? I’m going to get heavier. The most astonishing one had soft music, beautiful photos and inspirational sayings (most of them religious) and then went on to threaten me with a bad year if I didn’t forward it! The mind boggles.

This one, however, I am going to post here, because this is a message I really think needs to be passed on. I’m saving this link and I’m going to watch it whenever I get a thanks-but-no-thanks letter or don’t succeed in a competition or just can’t see any way forward with a story. Or any time I'm just feeling plain sorry for myself. Warning - if you’re easily moved to tears, you may want to arm yourself with a handkerchief before watching.

I've slacked on the lemonade stand award too. I've been sick.

I'll have to check out your video when I'm in the mood. I don't usually like to cry. But this looks like it will be worth it. I have to prepare myself first though.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Christy. It's not sad (I don't think), just inspiring.

I have never gotten wrapped up in those chain letters/emails and my hair has not fallen out and I have not bitten my tongue off, etc. etc. etc...

I have a friend who must have every fear in the world because she passes those darn chain letters/emails to all of her friends and she gets one like every other day! sigh...grin...

What a great message! Thanks for sharing that, Kate. :>)
It came at a great time for me as I'm on crutches for a short time and was feeling a little sorry for myself.
Warm Regards,
Melanie
