Procrastinating

You're writing a book. You're about 5 chapters from the end and people are asking you, 'when will it be ready?'

You're doing a book cover for an author who's telling her friends, 'my book should be out by the end of the month!'

So what are you doing? You're playing with Windows Live Movie Maker. You're playing at recording your harp on a tiny little camera that's designed to take 2D snaps.

It's called procrastinating. Wasting time doing anything but what you're supposed to be doing. I'm doing it again.

But here's the result -

Lovely harp-playing and beautiful scenery. I wouldn't call that a waste of time at all!

Kate! The same thing's happening with me. I hate it. I've got one and a half chapters of the first draft left to write and I'm just not getting anywhere. :(

Yes, Ryan, the closer I get, the more I find to do to keep me from writing. I wonder if this ailment has a name? I'm sure psychologists could come up with something.

Gulp - if I'm the author whosee cover you were working (or not working!) on, I have to say it was worth the wait. I don't think I'm going to make my hoped-for deadline, but that's down to my editor. Maybe he's procrastinatin, too. :>)

Like you I'm also putting things off. I really should be revising/editing the sequel to Chamaeleon but it seems the more I have to do the less I feel like doing it.
