Like the view?
When we first got married, I dreamed of having a house up here, far off the road with a view to die for. As the years went by, I realised we'd never have the money to build a new house, let alone one that would need power, telephone and water connected to it - all at huge expense.
Today I was up there and started dreaming again. What about just a small building, a shed even, with a desk and chair - my writer's/artist's retreat? No telephone, no passers by, no pile of washing telling me I should be seeing to it, no vacuum cleaner screaming to be used. I said something to my husband about it, but as I did I suddenly realised that I'd still need power. I could take a thermos of coffee and have a big window for light, but my laptop only stays powered-up for a limited time. But P said, 'You'd only need a solar panel on the roof.'
The dream lives on...

What a beautiful view. I agree, a solar panel is something you should ask about! (Mother's day is coming up...!)
Nice, Kate. Very inspirational. Keep the dream alive!
